Q: How long have you worked at Stoltzfus Meats and what do you do in your role?
A: I have worked at Stoltzfus Meats for 4 1/2 years. I was recently promoted to Curbside Supervisor. In my role, I provide customers with the products they need from all of our stands at the New Castle Farmers Market.
Q: What does a typical workday look like for you?
A: Long story short, I do laps around the market. I am never in the same area for too long. A typical workday starts with me restocking and fixing up the products in the Meats case. After that, I refill our other necessities/supplies. Next, I work on any curbside orders that I have that morning. Once they are all finished, I set up the Curbside area outside with the sign, table, clipboard, and receipt stick. After all of this, it should be opening time. I call numbers in the front with the rest of the crew. The remainder of my day is pretty random. I speak to multiple customers on the phone, taking/filling curbside orders as well as pickup inside orders. I run curbside orders outside to customers. I help customers in the front, refill anything that’s running low, clean, tend to any customer situations, and do anything else I can to help things run smoothly. Sometimes I even help out at other stands. Then at the end of the night I help close.
Q: What is the best part of your day?
A: The best part of my day is working with the other employees. I am at the market so much that it’s like I live there. All of the employees have become my second family. It’s great seeing and talking to them every weekend.
Q: Outside of work, what are some things you like to do?
A: Outside of work I enjoy hanging out with my friends. I might go out to dinner with them, a concert, shopping, traveling, etc.
Q: What is your favorite Stoltzfus Meats product?
A: We make a lot of products, so it is hard to choose just one as my favorite. However, my favorite Stoltzfus Meats product is the Vidalia Onion steak sauce. I put it on everything. Everyone always says that the company should sponsor me.
