THE ABSOLUTE BEST Ham Hocks

I’ve been buying these hocks from our local Amish Market for a few years and love them. They are so meaty and delicious and perfect for collards, soups and beans. We moved to the mountains of NC and surprisingly, no one sells smoked hocks anywhere around here. Thankfully Stoltzfus sells online and they have my business for life!

Smoked ham hock

I actually cooked in soup but didn't need it all (cooking for one) so refroze and will make bean soup.

What a delicious way to use it, thank you for sharing!

Worth the price; small caveat...

These are large, lean, meaty hocks.
I will buy again.

That being said, they are less smokey than I like. I added some liquid smoke to my collard/turnip greens combo.

Next time I will also add a "run of the mill" fatty ham hock from the grocery store to make the "meaty to greasy" ratio just right for greens!
