Meat & Greet - Ryan

Say hello to another member of our team - Ryan!

Q: Tell us a little bit about your connection to Stoltzfus Meats. How long have you worked here?

I first heard of Stoltzfus Meats not long after moving to Lancaster County, but I hadn’t experienced it firsthand until just before I started working here in early 2024. A few days after interviewing for the position, I took my family to Amos Place for breakfast and was blown away. Not just by the quality of the food, but by the people we interacted with. That visit gave me a great first impression of the Stoltzfus Meats culture.

Q: What is your current role? What does a “typical” day at Stoltzfus Meats look like for you?

In my role as HR Manager at Stoltzfus Meats, I support our team members across the company while also assisting with Ecommerce and Customer Service. Much of my work focuses on hiring and onboarding, coaching managers, improving processes, and ensuring we maintain a safe, positive, and productive workplace culture.

There really isn’t a “typical” day, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the role. Some days are spent interviewing candidates, working with managers on staffing and training, or developing policies and systems that help our team grow. Other days, I’m supporting our Ecommerce and Customer Service teams by helping solve customer concerns or identifying ways to improve and grow our operations. What stays consistent is the focus on people.

Q: What is your favorite Stoltzfus Meats product?

This is a tough question because we really do so many amazing things! Since that first breakfast at Amos Place, my “go-to” has been the Breakfast Burrito. Although, a nice ham hock along with beans from the dry goods section slow-cooked in a Dutch oven has never made me sad either…

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Most of my time outside of work is spent with my family. Both of my daughters are active in sports, which keeps us on the move most of the time. In between, we like to hike, bike, swim, and do just about anything that keeps us outside and active.

Q: If you could go anywhere or do anything for a day, what would you do?

If I could go anywhere for a day, I’d probably choose a quiet spot in the forest on a lake with my family. We could hike during the day, swim in the afternoon, cook a meal together and sit around a fire in the evening. Simple time outdoors with the people I care about most is hard to beat.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about one of our valuable team members! Stay tuned for future Meat & Greets to meet even more of our team members.
