Happy New Year from Stoltzfus Meats!

Happy New Year from Stoltzfus Meats!

Jacki Weaver |

At the beginning of the New Year, we wanted to take the time to look back on 2022. Travis Rohrer, the president of Stoltzfus Meats, took the time to write out a few reflections. Here's what he had to say!

Happy 2023 to our team members, customers, communities, and vendors! We are so thankful for every single one of these relationships! For each team member who invested their time and talents into ensuring that our products and service met our standards of excellence! For every retail customer who chose to enjoy Stoltzfus Meats products! For our wholesale customers, who viewed their partnership with us as an important piece of their business success! For our vendors, who enabled us to consistently produce, package, and sell our top-quality products! And for the communities where we do business, who continued to support us through another year!

As I think back on 2022, I’d like to highlight a few of the organizations we had the privilege to partner with in 2022 that make our communities better. Part of what drives us to be successful with this business God has entrusted to us is to be able to support these organizations and ministries in their mission(s). We are blessed to be able to do so!

  • Bethany Christian Services supports vulnerable kids and families in the U.S. and globally, through foster care and family preservation, refugee services, adoption, and more. This year they partnered with Little Springs Farm in opening a new equine facility that will provide year-round equine therapy for children in foster care. They also highlighted Safe Families, which is a program where trained volunteers provide a supportive community for parents in crisis as they strive to overcome poverty, homelessness, health issues, job loss, or other obstacles.

  • The Factory Ministries walks alongside those facing issues of poverty in Eastern Lancaster County, offering services and programs to empower the whole family. They continue to offer an increasing number of programs and opportunities to connect with and support those in need in our community.

  • CrossNet Ministries exists to offer help and hope in the name of Jesus by empowering people in the ELANCO community. They focus on the areas of Youth, Social Services, Community, and Food & Nutrition. The mission is two-fold: to build relationships and to build resources in the lives of those they serve. They currently have the exciting opportunity to move into a large warehouse that will allow them to significantly expand their programs and services.

  • Black Rock Retreat, along with partnerships with inner city organizations and churches, launched its first ever URBAN DAY CAMP in 2022. This allowed more inner-city kids to have the opportunity to experience summer camp.

  • North Star Initiative’s mission is to advocate for and support survivors of sex trafficking by providing physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual development through a Christ-centered focus.

  • The Sparrow Fund cares for caregivers, supporting families in foster care and adoption as well as those who care for vulnerable children. Each year they host a weekend event, Together Called, for married couples, with the goal of providing intentional opportunity for them to experience rest and connection with their spouse, with kindred others, and with the One who called them together from the start.

We look forward to strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones in 2023, and wish you all a blessed year!
