Cooking and Care Instructions

Store in a cool dry place.
Corn Meal Griddle Cakes:
-2 cups buttermilk
-2 egg yolks
-1.5 tsp salt
-2 tsp shortening
-1 tsp baking soda
-1 cup Brinser's Best corn meal
-1 cup white flour
-2 egg whites
Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Beat yolks, add buttermilk, and dry ingredients. Beat until smooth. Add melted shortening and mix well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake on a hot griddle. Yields 8 cakes.
