Stoltzfus Eats: Apple Maple Sausage Mini Pizzas

Stoltzfus Eats: Apple Maple Sausage Mini Pizzas

Jacki Weaver |

We're back with another easy kid-friendly recipe today! Today's recipe is for mini pizzas made on English muffins featuring our apple maple breakfast link sausages. Perfect for a weekend breakfast (or my family's favorite, breakfast for dinner), this recipe is also very easy to customize to accomodate everyone's tastes and preferences. As written, the flavors of the apples, cheese, and sausage are a classic PA Dutch savory-sweet combination.

What you'll need for this recipe:
English muffins, cut in half
1/2 cup Alfredo sauce
2 oz fontina cheese, grated
1 honey crisp apple, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1/2 lb Stoltzfus apple maple breakfast links
Maple syrup, to drizzle

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a skillet, cook breakfast links over medium-high heat until links are no longer pink in the center and reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Remove from pan, allow to cool for a few minutes on a cutting board, and then slice into little pieces (like mini pepperoni).

On a baking sheet, lay out English muffin halves. Spread about 2 tablespoons of alfredo sauce onto each muffin. Top each muffin with sausage pieces, apple chunks, and grated cheese.

Bake mini pizzas for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
